January 27th 2005: Yesterday, Vera and Anastasia saw their doubles run end as they lost against Svetlana Kuznetsova and Alicia Molik 6-2, 6-3 in the semifinals.

January 26th 2005: Another win for Vera and Anastasia:) They defeated Eleni Daniilidou and Nicole Pratt 6-4, 6-3 in the quarterfinals:)

January 24th 2005: Oh noooo:( Anastasia suffered a surprise loss today in Melbourne as she was defeated 6-4, 6-2 against Nathalie Dechy:(

January 24th 2005: Yesterday, Anastasia and Vera won their 3rd round match in doubles, defeating Li and Sun 6-1, 7-5:)

January 22nd 2005: Wow, tough match but Vera and Anastasia came out on top as they posted a 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 win against Bryanne Stewart and Samanthan Stosur in the second round:)

January 22nd 2005: Anastasia did not have to play in the third round today as her opponent Lisa Raymond was injured and withdrew...! Next up will be Nathalie Dechy!

January 21st 2005: Anastasia and Vera won their opening match in doubles yesterday posting a 7-6, 6-3 win against Stephanie Cohen-Aloro and Selima Sfar, well done:)

January 20th 2005: Anastasia did not run into much problems today with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Tzipora Obziler. In her third round match, Anastasia will face Lisa Raymond, the #26 seed:)

January 18th 2005: Anastasia won her opening match in Melbourne today 6-1, 6-4 against Kveta Peschke, she will face Tzipora Obziler in her second round match on Thursday.

January 17th 2005: Anastasia will once again be teaming up with Vera Zvonareva in doubles:) They'll face Cohen-Aloro and Sfar in their opening match (Nastya and Vera are the #7 seeds!).

January 15th 2005: Anastasia is now only a few hours away from starting her quest for the 2005 Australian Open:) She'll face Silvia Pleschke in her opening match! Not to add pressure, but tennis specialist Matthew Cronin picked Anastasia as the favourite to win the tournament:) Good luck Anastasia:) By the way, to see the entire Australian Open draw, go here:)

January 11th 2005: Pretty big shock today as Nastya lost her opening match in Sydney against Shuai Peng in straight sets:((

January 6th 2005: History repeats itself. Anastasia won 6-3, 6-2 against Francesca Schiavone, then watched Marat Safin lose his match against David Sanguinetti and they then lost mixed doubles... So Russia lost 2-1 to Italy and its tournament is now over. Anastasia now heads to Sydney where she'll play next week!

January 5th 2005: Oh no, another day, same story! Anastasia easily won 6-2, 6-1 against Gisela Dulko but Guillermo Coria defeated Marat Safin and Nastya and Marat lost the mixed doubles in a 2-1 loss to Argentina:(

January 3rd 2005: Anastasia won her singles match 6-3, 6-3 against Anna-Lena Groenefeld but a loss from Marat Safin against Tommy Haas and a loss by the duo in mixed doubles translated into a 2-1 loss to Germany:(
