June 26th 2004: See 10 new photos of Anastasia including some from the French Open in gallery #40.

June 25th 2004: It was a very tight match but in the end Anastasia lost today in 3 sets against Amy Frazier..

June 24th 2004: Anastasia was able to win her first match today as she defeated Aniko Kapros, in 3 sets, good thing as it was her first match on grass this year.. she will now face Amy Frazier..

June 21st 2004: Anastasia played well and defeated Lubomira Kurhajcova 7-5, 6-1!! Next up is Aniko Kapros!

June 18th 2004: Anastasia was awarded the #2 seed for the Wimbledon tournament, she will face Lubomira Kurhajcova in her first match. See the full draw here

June 11th 2004: Anastasia was scheduled to play in Eastbourne but after all chose not to play to rest more after so much tennis in Paris..."I am exhausted from the daily wear and tear and I am not prepared mentally and physically to start a tournament this coming week."

June 6th 2004: By the way, I forgot to add some updates about Anastasia's doubles! In the second round she and Vera won 6-2, 6-0 against Grande and Tanasugarn but then lost in 3 tough sets against Schiavone and Farina-Elia.

June 5th 2004: I just left a message to Anastasia congratulating her on her great win, on an outstanding week!!! Thanks for all the emails, I passed on wishes to her! I will soon be adding some photos from the tournament and from the final but in the meantime you can read her post-match interview here.

June 5th 2004: Anastasia defeated Elena Dementieva 6/1, 6/2 in 59 minutes to win the 2004 French Open and become the first Russian women to win a GS title! Congratulations Nastya!!!

June 3rd 2004: Awesome result! Anastasia posted a 6-2, 6-2 win today in the French Open semifinals against Jennifer Capriati!!! She will now play her first ever singles grand slam final on Saturday when she will face friend and fellow Russian Elena Dementieva!!!! Congratulations Nastya!

June 1st 2004: Congratulations Anastasia! Today she defeated Venus Williams in straight sets to advance to her first ever grand slam semifinal!!! She will now face either Jennifer Capriati!
